Wow! Marlborough has just about anything you could desire.
From intrepid journeys such as hiking the ranges, skiing, diving the
sounds, or swimming with dolphins and whales. To the more relaxing side of visiting the
many cafes, taking a wine tour, or swimming and picnicking on the beautiful Wairau River.
Here is a small selection of what is available in the region.
Whalewatch / Dolphins
Watch the dolphins with a 30 minute drive to Picton or head for a 2hr drive to Kaikoura
the whale watching hub of New Zealand.
Walking / Hiking
Enjoy a wide range of walks. The Wither Hills walkways have panoramic views of Blenheim or
head to the Richmond Range for cool bush settings. The Queen Charlotte track offers hikers
up to week long escapades and the deep green Pelorus area offers native bush exploration.
Wine & Wine Tours
No visit to Marlborough would be complete without visiting some (or all!) of our renowned
wineries. A wide range of options are available from small personalised tours up to the
large 40 seater bus tour. For those of you who are truly energetic you can also do a wine
trail by bicycle.
Marlborough Sounds Cruising
Superb experiences await guests on an array of Marlborough Sounds cruises. Ranging from
the water taxi services to the famous "mail boat" and where you can visit a
myriad of bays and homes in the sounds.
Fishing / Kayaking / Diving
There are so many activities to do both in and on the water. Whether it's fishing,
kayaking or diving, Marlborough is the place to do it.
